After the sluggish start I have seemed to of shaken off the rust and completed another perfect 3-0-1 record last week to climb over the .500 mark. This week we got more Maine Black Bear action as they open up their Hockey East schedule with a Portland/Orono series against BC. Also I will be picking two other Hockey East games.

Last weeks record: 3-0-1 Season record 8-5-3

Last weeks results:

Fri, October 28

Maine 2, Colgate 2 tied pick

Minnesota-Duluth 5, North Dakota 2 correct pick

Saturday, October 29

Colgate 5, Maine 3 correct pick

Boston College 7, UMass 4 correct pick

This weeks games:

Friday, November 4

#5 Boston College (6-2-1, 2-0-1 HE) at Maine (3-3-2) at Cross Insurance Arena, Portland Maine

The Black Bears after a 3-0-0 start have now gone 0-3-2 in the past five games. Now it is on to league games as the Eagles visit the Bears in Portland for the opener of the two game series. Maine had a disappointing weekend at Colgate last week with a tie and a loss against the previously winless Raiders. BC topped Providence 3-1 at home before exploding for a 7-4 at UMass last Saturday.

The pick- Maine has had success in the Friday night games so far going 2-0-2 as opposed to Saturday where they are 1-3-0. I will stick with them here until that changes.  Maine 3, Boston College 2

#4 Boston University (3-2-0) at Northeastern (3-2-2, 0-1-0 Hockey East)

The Terriers open up their conference schedule after a week off just down the road at Matthews Arena against the Huskies. This will be the first matchup between the two teams since Northeastern knocked BU out of the Hockey East playoffs in March. BU knocked off Sacred Heart 7-0 before beating #4 Quinnipiac 3-0 two weeks ago. The Huskies come in off a 3-2 home loss to Vermont in their conference opener last Sunday.

The pick- The Huskies have had some recent success against the Terriers and I predict it will continue on this night. Northeastern 4, Boston University 2

Saturday, November 5

Boston College at Maine, Alfond Arena, Orono, Maine

The Bears return to the friendly confines of a nearly sold out Alfond Arena looking for a Hockey East sweep.

The pick- The Eagles continue to make Saturday nights hard on the Black Bears.  Boston College 6, Maine 3

#19 Vermont (4-1-1, 1-0-0 Hockey East) at #7 UMass-Lowell (4-2-2)

The Riverhawks host the Catamounts on the tail end of the home Hockey East opening series for Lowell at Tsongas. Vermont is off to a sizzling start and topped #11 Michigan 3-0 at home last Friday before going to Northeastern for a 3-2 league opening win Sunday. Lowell split games on the road last weekend at Nebraska-Omaha losing 5-1 Friday before winning 4-2 Saturday.

The pick- The Riverhawks send the ‘Cats back down to earth on night two of a great weekend series. UMass-Lowell 4, Vermont 3
