Duke rolls past Maine Mens basketball Saturday evening

The #5 Duke Blue Devils Mens basketball team outscored the Maine Black Bears 48-23 in the second half Saturday evening to roll to a 94-55 win at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, North Carolina before 9,314 fans.

Luke Kennard led the way for Duke (8-1) with 35 points and eight rebounds. Kennard shot 11-16 from the floor (4-9 three point range) and 9-9 from the foul line. Amile Jefferson added 20 points, nine rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and two steals. Duke led by as many as 43 with 2:30 left in the game.

Maine (2-6) was led by Ilker Er who had 20 points and five rebounds. Wes Myers chipped in 15 for the Black Bears. The Bears took care of the ball only turning it over six times compared to 12 for Duke, but the Blue Devils shot 60% from the floor as compared to just over 30% for Maine.

Maine returns home Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. to host Holy Cross at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. Duke will host Florida on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m.
