High School Basketball Preview- January 6th

On a night, a total of nine undefeated teams will take the floor around the region, two of them will meet in Blue Hill. The George Stevens Eagles boys basketball team start the day with an 8-0 record. The Eagles will host Lee Academy, who is 5-0 after a hard fought 54-52 victory over PCHS on Thursday.

The Hampden Academy Broncos boys team will take their 7-0 record to Brewer, while 8-0 Medomak Valley will travel to Waterville for a boys basketball clash. Winslow (6-0) will host Mt. View.

In girls basketball action, Stearns (7-0) will host Dexter (5-2), while Gardiner (3-2) will host Nokomis (8-0). Skowhegan (6-0) will host MCI (4-2) in another game with plenty of heal points on the line.  Messalonskee (7-0) will host Oceanside (4-2). The John Bapst Crusaders (7-2) will host MDI (5-2) at the Cross Insurance Center. The Crusaders are currently second in the Maine Principals’ Association class B north girls heal point standings.

In other boys basketball games with huge heal points up for grabs, Hodgdon (5-2) will host Fort Fairfield (4-1) in a class C battle. Messalonskee (5-2) will travel to Oceanside (5-2) in a class A battle. Gardiner (4-2) and Nokomis (4-2) will tangle in Newport.

Eastern Maine Sports will be in Dexter to provide audio of the Stearns/Dexter class C boys basketball game. Coverage will begin around 6:50 PM. Click here for all the action.

Girls– Foxcroft at Mattanawcook, Schenck at Penquis, Limestone at Wisdom, Hodgdon at Central Aroostook, Lawrence at Cony, Waterville at Medomak Valley, Hermon at Old Town, Cheverus at Bangor.
