Nine undefeated high school basketball teams remain in the north

With three weeks remaining in the high school basketball season, nine Northern Maine teams are still undefeated.

The girls teams are class a Messalonskee (10-0), class b Houlton (10-0), class c Stearns (11-0), and class d Southern Aroostook (10-0).

Messalonskee is currently number one in the class a Maine Principals’ Assocation heal point standings. They have a game at #4 Hampden tonight. They also have games coming up against #2 Nokomis, #3 Skowhegan, and #5 Gardiner.

Houlton is at the top of the class B standings. They will host #2 Hermon on Saturday and #4 Presque Isle next Wednesday.

Stearns is currently third in the class c standings. George Stevens and PCHS are currently ahead of them. Stearns and PCHS will meet on January 31st.

Southern Aroostook is second, behind Shead in the class d standings. The Warriors will host #3 Central Aroostook tonight.

The boys teams that have not recorded a loss are class a Medomak Valley (11-0), class aa Edward Little (12-0), class b MDI (12-0), class c George Stevens (12-0), and class d Southern Aroostook (11-0) and Machias (13-0).

Medomak Valley is number one in the MPA class A standings. They have a game at #3 Oceanside on January 27th.

Edward Little is number one in the class aa standings. They will host Brunswick tonight.

MDI is at the top of the class b standings. They will host #3 Central tonight.

George Stevens is number one in the current class c standings. They will play at Searsport tonight. The Eagles still have a game remaining with class b Ellsworth. 

Southern Aroostook is number one in the class d standings, while Machias is third.

Southern Aroostook still has two games remaining with Woodland, who is #7 in class c and one left with Hodgdon, who is #3 in class c. Machias will play at Greenville tomorrow. Greenville is second in the class d South standings.
