Presque Isle girls hold off John Bapst to earn ninth straight trip to semifinals

BANGOR– The Presque Isle girls basketball team held off a John Bapst rally to earn a 37-36 win and their ninth straight trip the semifinals.

Emily Lagerstrom scored 10 points for the Wildcats. Skyler Vogel dominated inside play with six points, 13 rebounds, four blocks, and four steals. Emily Wheaton recorded nine points, six rebounds, and four assists. Wheaton had to leave the game in the fourth quarter with an apparent leg injury. Savannah Rodriguez chipped in with eight points, three rebounds, and three steals, while Madison Michaud added two points. Presque Isle (15-4) will play Foxcroft in a Maine Principals’ Association class B North girls semifinal game Wednesday, February 22nd at 7:05 PM.

Crystal Bell led the Crusaders with 16 points and nine rebounds, Grace Philippon added 11 points, 10 rebounds, and two steals. John Bapst finishes the season with a 12-8 record.
