BANGOR- Taylor Schildroth had a game high 29 points Friday afternoon as the George Stevens Academy Eagles built an 18 point halftime lead, and then cruised to a 60-31 win over the Dexter Tigers in a Class C semifinal schoolboy basketball game at the Cross Insurance Center.
Schildroth had nine points in the opening quarter as GSA led 15-5 at the end of one, and then seven more in the second quarter and the Eagles built a 28-10 halftime lead.
GSA (20-0), would lead by as many as 30 points in the second half, as Schildroth had 13 more in the third quarter to finish off the Tigers.
Dexter, who finishes the season at 15-6, was led by Jacob Bickford who had eight points and four rebounds. Brayden Miller also added eight points and five rebounds.
Along with the point total, Schildroth added five rebounds and three steals. Max Mattson added 12 points, three blocks, and a steal. Jarrod Chase also chipped in eight points.
GSA will now face Ft. Fairfield (19-1) for the Class C North regional title on Saturday night at 8:45 p.m. The Tigers defeated Schenck in Fridays other semifinal.
