The Husson University baseball team started their season with a doubleheader split with Marymount of Virginia at Lake Myrtle, Florida on Sunday.
Alex Chapman had two hits and two RBI, including the walk off hit in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Eagles a 3-2 win in game one. Ben Walls pitched a complete game four hitter to earn the victory on the mound. He walked one, struck out four, while allowing two runs.
Game two didn’t go so well for Husson after they took a 2-0 lead during the top of the second inning. Marymount responded with seven runs in the bottom of the second inning and rolled to a 10-2 win over the Eagles.
Husson (1-1) will play a single game at Winter Haven, Florida on Monday against the University of Rhode Island.
