Husson baseball starts busy three day stretch with win over Bates

Ryan Allender allowed three hits in seven shutout innings to lead the Husson Eagles baseball team to a 5-1 win over Bates at Alfond Diamond on Wednesday afternoon. 

The Eagles took a lead when Ryan Rebar led off the bottom of the second inning with a triple and scored on a Christian Corneil grounder. 

Husson expanded the lead when Luke Covey hit a double that scored Sam Huston and Corneil in the bottom of the fifth inning.  Logs. Rogerson and Cam Archer followed with base hits to give the Eagles a 4-0 lead.

Rogerson singled home Huston in the sixth inning to give Husson a 5-0 lead. The only Bates run came on a Dan Trulli home tun in the ninth inning.

Rebar, Huston, and Rogerson had two hits each. Allender walked one and struck out five. Dustin Smith and Steven Hanscom finished the game on the mound for The Eagles. Husson (6-5) will host St. Joe’s on Thursday. They will also host Thomas in a doubleheader on Friday. That is a schedule change, the doubleheader was originally scheduled for Saturday.
