Breaking news reported by the Portland Press Herald this afternoon. The Maine Principals’ Association has made the decision to extend the regular season for all high school baseball and softball teams.
The last playable date is now June 2nd, moved up from May 31. The two day extension will be used for makeup dates only, and teams do not need to ask for permission in order to play those games. Previously, teams would need an ok from committee chairs in order to play any games that week.
The regional tournaments are scheduled to begin June 6, with preliminary round games.
