Hector Velazquez was roughed up in his first major league game as the Boston Red Sox fell 8-3 at Oakland on Thursday night.
Velazquez allowed six runs on nine hits in five innings. Dustin Pedroia led the Red Sox offense with two hits. Mitch Moreland hit his third home of the season.
