Eduardo Rodriguez continues strong start to season in leading Red Sox to win over Mariners

Eduardo Rodriguez pitched six shutout innings to lift the Boston Red Sox to a 3-0 win over the Seattle Mariners on Friday night 

It is the seventh straight quality start for Rodriguez, who improved to 4-1 and dropped his earned run average to 2.77. 

Christian Vazquez and Hanley Ramirez each reached base three times with two hits and a walk. Vazquez is hitting .350.

Craig Kimbrel retired the side in order in the ninth inning to record his 13th save. Kimbrel dropped his ERA to 0.83.

The Red Sox will bring a five game winning streak into a Saturday afternoon contest against the Mariners.
