Celtics get Kyrie Irving in blockbuster trade with Cavs

The two teams that played for the Eastern Conference Championship this past season made a blockbuster trade on Tuesday evening.

The Boston Celtics sent Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and a 2018 first-round draft pick to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Kyrie Irving. 

Irving is under contract for the next three seasons. Thomas is a free agent after the 2017/2018 season.

The Celtics and Cavaliers open the regular season against each other on October 17th at Cleveland.
