August 26, 2017

The Boston Red Sox played their worst game of the season on Friday night.

Bad pitching and bad fielding equaled a 16-3 loss to the Orioles for the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Rick Porcello was not sharp and was hurt by his defense, including an error he made. Porcello gave up 11 runs (four earned) in  4.2 innings.

Eduardo Nunez had to leave the game when he injured his wrist on a play at second base. Chris Young had two hits, while Xander Bogaerts hit a home run.

The Orioles pounded out 20 hits. Mitch Moreland pitched a scoreless ninth inning, including a strikeout.
