Scarborough rolls to first class A football championship

The Scarborough Red Storm started quickly and rolled to a 57-0 victory over Windham in the Maine Principals’ Association class A football state championship game on Saturday morning at Fitzpatrick Stadium.

Owen Garrard scores five touchdowns, including four rushing scores to lead the Red Storm attack. Quarterback Zoltan Panyi rushed for two touchdowns and threw one to Garrard.

Jarrett Flaker scored from 10 yards out to give Scarborough a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Panyi had his two scores from 50 plus yards in the third quarter.

It is the first class A state championship for Scarborough (10-1). They won a class B title in 2002. Windham finishes the season with a 7-5 record.
