Luis Ayala winning national coach of the year is Eastern Maine Sports moment of the year

In November, Luis Ayala won the US Cellular most valuable coach award. On Sunday afternoon, that unbelievable accomplishment was named Eastern Maine Sports moment of the year.

Ayala received 34 % of the vote. Mitchell Philbrook’s walk-off Home run to help Searsport comeback for a state championship win over Bangor Christian finished as runner up.

  7. Houlton girls soccer wins first state title in 30 years- 4%
  8. MCI football moves up to class C and wins second straight state title- 3%
  9. MCI field hockey moves up to class B and wins second straight state title- 2%
  10. Brayden Miller hits walk-off homer to give Dexter baseball semifinal win over Fort Kent- 1%
