On Wednesday night, Sydney Allen from Central high school was named Eastern Maine Sports January athlete of the month. Allen is averaging over 21 points,4.5 rebounds, four assists, and four steals for the 15-2 Red Devils. Allen surpassed the 1000 career point mark in a win over Bucksport. She is currently the fourth leading scorer in Central girls basketball history. Allen committed to attend Husson University and will play basketball for the Eagles.
Allen joins Michael Norton JR (October 2017) from Oceanside, Carter Tolmasoff (November 2017) from Bucksport, and Peyton Grant (December 2017) from Dexter as athlete of the month winners.
