Donato shines again, but Bruins drop second straight

In his second career NHL game Harvard product Ryan Donato got into the scorebook, but for the second consecutive game the Boston Bruins suffered an overtime loss, this time 2-1 at the hands of the St Louis Blues at the ScottTrade Center in St Louis Wednesday night.

Donato scored his second career goal just over 10 minutes into the first period on the powerplay to make it 1-0 Bruins. Jaden Schwartz evened up the game at 9:36 of the third for the Blues to make it 1-1. Schwartz wasn’t done, scoring his 22nd goal just 30 seconds into the overtime to provide the game winner.

Boston was 1-2 on the powerplay on the night, and Anton Khudobin made 18 saves in the loss. Jake Allen made 21 saves in the St Louis net for the win, and the Blues were 0-2 with the extra man. Boston slips to 45-17-10, while St Louis goes to 40-28-5. The Bruins will next be at Dallas Friday night to battle the Stars at 8 p.m.
