June 8, 2018

Chris Sale lost his third straight outing despite pitching a stellar game as the Boston Red Sox fell 1-0 to the Chicago White Sox on Friday night at Fenway Park.

Sale allowed one run on six hits and one walk, while striking out 10. Dylan Covey pitched six shutout innings for the White Sox. He only allowed three hits and one walk. Covey struck out seven.

It is the first time Sale has lost three straight outings since 2015. J.D. Martinez missed the game after leaving Thursday’s game with back spasm. He is expected to be back in the lineup for game two of the series on Saturday afternoon.
