UMaine field hockey snaps losing streak with overtime win over Albany

Brianna Ricker scored in the second overtime to give the University of Maine field hockey team a 2-1 win over Albany at the UMaine FH complex on Sunday afternoon.

Dana Bozek scored the only first half goal as Albany held a 1-0 halftime lead. That held until Libby Riedl put in her 10th goal of the season to even the score at one at the 55:25 mark.

The Black Bears outshot Albany 17-12 overall but did not get a shot off in the first overtime. Ricker put in one of the two Maine shots in the second overtime at the 83:20 mark.

Mia Borley had eight saves. The win snapped a two game losing streak for the 9-2 Black Bears. Maine is ranked #18 nationally. Albany is ranked #22 in the nation.
