On Thursday, the University of Maine women’s basketball team was selected as the unanimous preseason America East favorite. The poll and all-conference team were voted on by the league’s nine head coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own team.
The Black Bears are coming off their first conference championship since 2004. Last year, they were the first number six seed in conference history to advance to the championship game.
Hartford and Stony Brook finished tied for second in the preseason poll. Albany was picked fourth. Click here for the full poll.
