Husson crushes Gallaudet, wins ECFC title again

BANGOR, Me- Cory Brandon threw five touchdown passes, and Kyle Gaudet caught four of them as the Husson Eagles football team clinched their third straight Eastern Collegiate Football Conference title with a 63-2 win over Gallaudet University at the Winkin Sports Complex Saturday afternoon on Senior Day.

Husson (7-2, 6-0 ECFC) outgained the visiting Bison 684-43 in total yardage in rolling to their 22nd straight conference win, and the last one in the ECFC before moving to the Commonwealth Coast Conference next season. Brandon was 15-21 passing for 404 yards. Gaudet caught seven passes for 249 yards total with touchdown catches of 21, 61, 82, and 57 yards. Miece Loureiro also ran 15 times for 139 yards and a pair of scores, including one of 90 yards. Elvin Suazo led the defense with nine total tackles and a sack, as the Eagles defense had six total sacks on the day. Gallaudet falls to 3-4, 3-2.

Husson finishes off the regular season next Saturday at 12 pm when they square off with Plymouth State on the road in non-conference action.
