Jonesport-Beals Thwarts Late Comeback By Deer Isle To Advance To Semis

BANGOR, Maine- A late comeback in the fourth by the Mariners of Deer Isle Stonington was thwarted by the Royals of Jonesport Beals, en route to a 63-45 victory in a Maine Principals’ Association Class D North boys quarterfinal played Saturday night at the Cross Insurance Center.

Jonesport Beals (16-2) was lead by junior guard Adam Robinson who had a team-high 15 points. Kaiden Crowley and Ryan Alley each had 13 points, while Alvin Beal Jr. had 12

For the Mariners, Coleman Brown led the way with 13 points, while Nathan Thompson had 10. DI-S finishes up with a 6-12 record.

Up next for the Jonesport Beal Royals they will face the third-seeded Greater Houlton Christian Academy Eagles in a semifinal next Thursday at 2:05 pm.
