BANGOR– In the final game of the morning session in Bangor, the second seeded Dexter Tigers were easily able to handle the seventh seeded Fort Fairfield Tigers and took a 47-25 win and punched their ticket to the semi-finals Friday night.
Dexter was able to shut Fort Fairfield down offensively holding them to only eight first half points and forcing 10 turnovers, which forced how Fort Fairfield played.
The offense for Dexter was on fire, led by sophomore guard Peyton Grant who had 23 points with six of them points from behind the three point arc. Also playing a big part in the offense was sophomore guard Avery Herrick, who contributed 12 points and was a big presence from mid-range and under the basket where she picked up eight rebounds. Cheyenne Beem added six points and six rebounds. Kaylee Deering added five points and four assists. Danielle Cummings contributed three assists and three steals. Grant added three steals and two assists. As a team, Dexter dominated the boards with 22 rebounds.
Fort Fairfield was led by freshman guard Camryn Ala who had 10 points, followed by Riley Clough who contributed six for the Tigers
Dexter advances to the Semi-Finals and will face the sixth seeded Calais Blue Devils on Friday at 7:05 PM.
