Patriots select wide receiver with 32nd Pick

April 26, 2019

The New England Patriots came into the 2019 NFL Draft with some holes to fill, once again holding a back end of the first round pick they held the cards to what they wanted to do. In most years they would maybe think of trading out, but with a slew of players expected to go at the top falling quickly the Patriots saw their chance to stay put.

The Patriots selected a big-bodied offensive player N’Keal Harry, wide receiver out of Arizona State.

In fact, Harry to the Patriots in the first round is a rare feat. Harry is the first wide receiver that the Patriots have taken in the first round of the Belichick era.

Harry is 6-4, 228 lb and a constant threat on the field. In his final season at ASU, Harry had 1088 yards, nine touchdowns, and averaged 14.9 yards per catch. A player that highly impressed in his combine running a 4.53 40 yard dash. With the pick, the Patriots hope to fill the void of losing a big offensive weapon in Rob Gronkowski to retirement and give Tom Brady another possible big play guy to add to his arsenal.

The team heads into Day 2 of the draft with five picks on the board (two in the second and three in the third).

Day 2 of the draft starts tonight at 7 pm on ESPN and NFL Network.
