PVHS boys soccer stays undefeated with win over PCHS

The Howlers of Penobscot Valley high school (PVHS) continue their undefeated season on Saturday after a 4-1 win over the Pirates of Guilford. The Howlers started the scoring within five minutes into the game when Nick Reed netted a Reece Carter assist. They went on to double their score off a Zach Doore goal with five minutes left of the half. The second half both teams battled back and forth for possession, PVHS extended their lead to 3 with a goal by Zeke Hayes when a shot was deflected off the Guilford keeper.

The Pirates lone goal was scored by Fischer Cobb off of a direct kick. The Howlers ended the scoring with a goal by Alex Tash off a Doore assist. Pirates keeper Matt Robinson ended the game with 26 saves on 30 shots. Lance Neal recorded 13 saves on 16 shots for the Howlers. The Howlers continue their undefeated record 8-0 while the Pirates drop to 2-4-1.
