Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. This week, we had four Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Jaron Gentle scored four goals in leading the Houlton boys soccer team to a preliminary round win over Narraguagus. Gentle joins Kyle Bouchard (4) (1-3-16), Jimmy Fitzpatrick (10-14-12), Kolleen Bouchard (19) (3-5-18), Natalie Hill (9-27-15), Seth Holston- (9-11-16), Tessa Solomon (11-6-17), Keegan Gentle (3) (1-21-19), and Will Belyea (9-16-19) as student/athletes from Houlton high school that have earned athlete of the week honors.

- Jaron Gentle- Houlton- soccer- scored four goals in 6-1 class C prelim win over Narraguagus.

- Ryan Friend- MCI – football- rushed for three touchdowns in 21-0 win over Hermon.

- Kobe Gilbert- PCHS – soccer- had two goals and one assist in 3-1 win over a Bangor Christian.
