David Morrison connected for three second half touchdown passes to Tyler Halls Saturday afternoon as the Husson Eagles amassed almost 500 yards of total offense in a 31-7 Commonwealth Coast Conference football win over the Nichols College Bison at Vendetti Field in Dudley, Massachusetts.
Husson held a 10-7 lead at halftime on the strength of a short TD run by Keyshaun Robinson and a Devin Pickett field goal. The Eagles then exploded for two late third quarter scores of 63 and 16 yards from Morrison to Halls, and then would add another of 21 yards in the fourth quarter. The Husson defense held the home Bison to just 155 total yards and recovered three fumbles in taking the road game.
Morrison finished 14-24 passing for 298 yards, with three touchdowns and one interception. Sean Noel Jr rushed for 122 yards, and Halls had a huge game catching 11 passes for 261 yards and the three touchdowns. Kaleb Caron had seven tackles, while Tucker Buzzell and David Redmond had six a piece to lead the Husson defense. The Eagles improve to 3-5, 3-2 CCC. Michael Pina went 16-31 passing for 122 yards, with one touchdown in the loss for Nichols. Joshua Pierre Charles had 46 rushing yards and Hunter Ferreira had 46 receiving yards for the Bison. Chris Lawrence had 12 tackles as Nichols drops to 5-3, 3-2.
Husson returns home for the final game of the regular season next Saturday when they host Salve Regina on Senior Day at the Winkin Complex at 12 p.m.
