Holden Brannan earns Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 312 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had three Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Holden Brannan had a game to remember in leading Mt. Ararat to the first eight man state championship. Brannan had 379 years and seven touchdowns in leading the Eagles to the title. He joins Mallory Nelson as student/athletes from Mt. Ararat that have earned athlete of the week honors.

Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week

  • Holden Brannan- Mt. Ararat – football- had 379 yards and seven touchdowns in 58-25 win over Old Orchard in 8 man state championship game. 

Runner up

  • Jaxson Gross- Bucksport- football- The freshman had 270 rushing yards and three touchdowns in 46-8 win over Dexter in class D North regional final.

Other nominations

  • Isaac Bussell- MCI- football- rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries in 49-21 win over Winslow in class C north regional final.
