Bangor,ME- The Husson University Men’s basketball team(4-3, 2-0 NAC) defeated the NVU-Johnson Badgers 85-74 Sunday afternoon at the Newman Gymnasium.
The Eagles and Badgers put on a show in the first half, swapping the lead back and forth the entire half as neither team could get a lead bigger than three points. The two teams would be knotted up 42-42 headed into halftime. Husson opened up the game in the second half as Johnson’s shots weren’t falling as often. The Eagles lead would get as large as 13 points which was just enough to hold off a late comeback by the Badgers. Husson wins their second North Atlantic Conference game in as many days.
The Eagles were led by Brett Cunningham and DJ Bussey as they each scored 17 points. Cunningham shot 5-6 from behind the arc. Justice Kendall added 14 points and three assists.
The Badgers were led by Floyd Davis off the bench with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Robert Dubose added 14 points, and Kiyl Mack added 13 points.
The Eagles are back in action on Thursday December 12th, hosting Lasell in a non conference game at 6 pm.
