Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 318 past athlete of the week winners.
This week we had four Rowells Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Katherine Alley averaged 25.5 points in leading Stearns to a pair of victories. Alley also surpassed the 1000 career point mark in a win over Bucksport. Alley has helped Stearns start the season 9-0. It is the second athlete of the week honor for Alley who won it as a freshman on December 11th, 2016.

- Katherine Alley- Stearns – basketball- recorded 19 points, six rebounds, and three assists in 50-36 win over Schenck. Recorded 32 points (including 1000 career point), seven steals, five rebounds, and two blocks in 54-37 win over Bucksport.

- Jaycee Christopher- Skowhegan- basketball- scored 27 points in 58-48 loss to Lawrence.
Other nominations
- Alisyn Alley- Stearns- basketball- recorded four points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, and seven steals in 54-37 win over Bucksport. Had nine points, 10 rebounds, three steals, and two assists in 50-36 win over Schenck.
- Emilee Cohen- Central- basketball- had 20 points and six rebounds in 55-36 win over Searsport.
