Lexi Ireland is named 2019 Eastern Maine Sports athlete of the year

Lexi Ireland had quite the 2019. She was a key part of three regional championship teams and one state championship team. Ireland and the PVHS Howlers won the class D softball state title. The Howlers were basketball and soccer Northern Maine champs and state runner up. Ireland has helped the PVHS basketball team start this season 5-3. She is averaging 20.2 points, 11.5 rebounds, 5.4 steals, and 4.5 assists per game.

On Wednesday night, Ireland was named Eastern Maine Sports athlete of the year. Ireland received 37% of the vote. She edged out Keegan Gentle from Houlton. The full results are below.
