Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 319 past athlete of the week winners.
This week we had six Rowells Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Peyton Grant averaged 28.7 in leading the Dexter Tigers to three wins. Grant had a 35 point game and another where she scored 14 in the first quarter. This is the fifth athlete of the week honor for Grant.

- Peyton Grant- Dexter – basketball- scored 35 points in 49-36 win over Mattanawcook. Scored 21 points in 45-32 win over Bucksport. Recorded 20 points (6 three pointers), three rebounds, and three assists in 44-32 win over Central.
Runner up
- Kaci Alley- Narraguagus– basketball– recorded28 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and foursteals in 100-43 win over Sumner. Had 21 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, and two steals in 68-38 win over Shead. Had 16 points and 12 rebounds in 57-24 win over George Stevens.

- Lauren Cook- Calais- basketball- had 22 points in 83-33 win over Bucksport. Had 22 points in 71-52 win over Washington Academy. Had 12 points in 54-35 win over PVHS.
- Sophie McVicar- Calais- basketball- had 20 points (6 three pointers) in 54-35 win over PVHS
- Ryleigh Andrews- Shead – scored 25 points in 78-47 win over Jonesport-Beals.
- Laney Harding- PVHS- basketball- recorded 26 points (7 three pointers) in 63-14 win over Penquis.
