Former University of Maine guard Sigi Koizar, a native of Austria, is headed to play for a team in France for the next upcoming basketball season.
Koizar signed a deal for 2020-21 with Charleville in a French professional league. The 5-8 sharpshooter who also spent her high school days and played basketball at Stearns in Millinocket, Maine before a very successful career at UMaine, averaged nine points and four rebounds for a team in Russia this past season. Koizar averaged over 15 points per contest in her final three seasons with the Black Bears, finishing with over 1,200 career points in her final season in 2016-17.
