HOWLAND, Maine- Ali Gilman and Emily St. Cyr both scored twice Saturday afternoon, as the Penobscot Valley High School (PVHS) Howlers shut out the Lee Academy Pandas 6-0 at PVHS in varsity schoolgirl soccer action.

Gilman got things started early for PVHS (6-0) scoring just 50 seconds into the contest. That is all the Howlers would need to stay unbeaten. St. Cyr scored 4:20 into the first half to make it 2-0 off an assist from Emma Buck. Buck scored one of her own at 35:36 when Holly Loring lofted a pass into the box, and Buck in one motion kicked it out of midair and into the net for a 3-0 halftime advantage.

St. Cyr got her second at 8:36 of half number two, Delaney Theriault then got one at 20:27, and Gilman added her second to finish the scoring on the day with just 1:03 left to play. PVHS outshot Lee Academy 35-1, as Emilee Ireland notched her fifth shutout in six games this season in goal and the second one over the Pandas. The Howlers have outscored their opponents 36-2 in their six games. Lee Academy freshman goalie Harmony Vermazani made 21 saves in goal in the defeat, as the Pandas dropped to 0-6.
