Ali Beltz would tie the game with an unassisted tally 2:21 into the third period. In the extra session Maine would need to kill off a Northeastern powerplay that they did so successfully, but Chloe Aurard even strength would skate to the high slot and beat Black Bears goalie Loryn Porter with a hard shot stick side with 44 seconds left to end it.

Porter was spectacular in the loss, making 51 saves for Maine. Gwyneth Phillips would make just nine saves in the Northeastern win, while Brooke Hobson and Mueller added two assists a piece.
