GUILFORD- Individual records and team records were broken in a 79-33 win for Piscataquis Community High School (PCHS) over Greenville on Thursday afternoon.
It was quite an afternoon for the Pirates seniors in their final regular season game. Isaiah Conary scored a game high and a career high 24 points, while Kobe Gilbert pulled down a career high and school record 25 rebounds. Matt Robinson grabbed a career high 16 rebounds. Sean Leland scored his first points ever with a fourth quarter bucket. Christian Easler had two points and seven rebounds.
Conary led the Pirates with eight rebounds and two assists to go along with his game high point total. Conary was named Our FAMBily Restaurant Player of the Game. Gilbert had 22 points, six assists, and six steals to go along with his record rebounding total. Gilbert was named Jersey Sub Unsung Hero of the Game. Robinson also recorded a double double with 11 points to go along with his 16 rebounds. Buddy Hutchins had eight points, two assists, and two steals. Alex Lyon had seven points, while Matt Chadbourne chipped in with three points and four rebounds.
PCHS (6-6) out rebounded the Lakers 65-11. The Pirates shot 3-5 from the free throw line, while Greenville (0-12) shot 6-10 from the line. Dominick Murray scored a team high 21 points for the Lakers. Ocean Turner had four points, Liam Mason put in a three pointer, Lance Owens and Dale Turner had two points each, while Devin Lawyerson made one free throw.
The two teams will meet again on Monday in a Penquis League Covid Cup quarterfinal game at Guilford.
