At PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh Tuesday night, the Boston Bruins got a goal each from three different players including a third period game winner by Brad Marchand to defeat the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-1.

David Krejci scored on a pretty move in the second period on a backhander from the left faceoff circle, before Marchand scored on a rebound in the third to be followed by a tally from Taylor Hall to make it 3-0. Jeff Carter scored a late goal for Pittsburgh (32-15-3) with 2:21 left to play. Krejci had a goal and an assist for Boston (28-14-6), and Tuuka Rask made 25 saves. The Bruins host the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night.

At Citi Field in Flushing Meadow, New York the Boston Red Sox got a dazzling pitching performance from Garrett Richards to beat the New York Mets 2-1 in interleague play in the first game of a six game road trip.

Jeff McNeil gave New York (9-9) an early lead in the bottom of the second inning with a solo homerun to right field. Bobby Dalbec tied it with his first homer of the season, a solo shot to center in the third. Rafael Devers came up with the game winner with an RBI single in the sixth. Devers had two hits to lead the way. Richards (1-2) allowed one run on seven hits with no walks and 10 strikeouts in 7.0 innings to get the win. Matt Andriese worked a perfect eighth inning for his second hold, and Matt Barnes picked up his fifth save with a 1-2-3 ninth with two strikeouts. The Sox are now 15-9, 7-1 on the road. Boston finishes the short two game series with the Mets Wednesday night with Nick Pivetta taking the ball for the BoSox, and Jacob deGrom hurling for New York.

At TD Garden in Boston, the Boston Celtics played without Kemba Walker and Jayson Tatum and would fall to the Oklahoma City Thunder 119-115.

Jaylen Brown had a double double with a game high 39 points and 11 rebounds, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Celtics allowed the Thunder to break a 14 game losing streak. Rookie Payton Pritchard had one of his best games of his early NBA career adding 28 points for Boston (32-30). Luguentz Dort had 24 points and Darius Bazley had 21 points and 10 rebounds for Oklahoma City (21-41). Boston will host the Charlotte Hornets Wednesday night. The C’s are currently in a tie for sixth place in the Eastern Conference with 10 games left in the regular season.
