Husson baseball headed to Hartford for the NCAA Regionals

The Husson University Eagles baseball team, fresh off their North Atlantic Conference Championship win on Friday, is off to Hartford, Connecticut this week to compete in the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament.

Husson (22-7) is returning to NCAA Tournament play for the first time since 2011. The Eagles are the #5 seed out of the six teams playing at the neutral site that is Trinity College. All eight regional winners advance to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to compete for the NCAA Championship June 4-8/9. Joining Husson in the regional is the top seed University of Southern Maine, #2 Oswego State University, #3 Wheaton College, #4 Salve Regina University, and #6 Johnson & Wales University. Husson opens play in the second game on Thursday against #5 Oswego State. The only common opponent for the Eagles are the USM Huskies, who swept them in a four game non-conference series to begin the regular season in Bangor.

Thursday, May 27

Game 1- University of Southern Maine (31-9) vs Johnson & Wales (13-14)- 11 a.m.

Game 2- Oswego State (24-5) vs Husson (22-7)- 2:30 p.m.

Game 3- Wheaton College (16-4) vs Salve Regina (14-5-1)- 6 p.m.

 

Friday, May 28

Game 4- Loser Game 1 vs Loser Game 2- 11 a.m.

Game 5- Winner Game 1 vs Loser Game 3- 2:30 p.m.

Game 6- Winner Game 2 vs Winner Game 3- 6 p.m.
