Gleyber Torres, Rougned Odor, and Ryan Lamarre homered Sunday night, backing 5.1 innings of scoreless baseball from Jameson Taillon in leading the New York Yankees to a 9-1 win over the Boston Red Sox Sunday night at Yankee Stadium in the rubber game of a three game series.

Torres made it back to back games with a homerun with a solo shot off Boston starter Martin Perez in the first inning. Odor and Lamarre both added two-run homers later on to give New York (48-44) the series win. Hunter Renfoe had an RBI single for the only run of the night for the Sox (56-38) in the eighth.

Perez (7-6) allowed three runs on five hits with one walk and five strikeouts in 4.0 innings in taking the loss on the hill. Xander Bogaerts was the only Boston batter with multiple hits with two. Odor and Lamarre each had two hits for New York, and Taillon (5-4) allowed just four hits with two walks and three strikeouts. The Sox begin a three game series in Buffalo against the Toronto Blue Jays Monday night, sending RHP Nick Pivetta to the mound (7-4, 4.30 ERA). Toronto counters with RHP Ross Stripling (3-5, 4.34).
