Draisaitl leads Oilers past the Bruins

Leon Draisaitl scored two third period goals Thursday night, rallying the Edmonton Oilers to a 5-3 win over the Boston Bruins at TD Garden in Boston.

The teams traded the first four goals of the night. David Pastrnak made it 1-0 Boston with his fourth of the season at 4:45 of the first period. That lead only held for 44 seconds as Evan Bouchard tied it for Edmonton at 5:29. Brad Marchand regained the Bruins lead at 5:06 of the second, but again was short lived this time for only 24 seconds as Zach Hyman scored for the Oilers to make it 2-2 at 5:30. Brandon Carlo puts the hosts up by a goal after 40 minutes when his slapshot through traffic found the back of the net at 17:14. Draisaitl took over the third scoring the equalizer and game winner just 3:04 apart at 6:22 and 9:26. Cody Ceci added an insurance marker for 10-2-0 Edmonton at 17:41.

Linus Ullmark made 23 saves in the loss for Boston, who falls to 6-5-0. Pastrnak had a goal and an assist, while Patrice Bergeron and Matt Grzeclyk had two assists each. Marchand moved ahead of David Krejci for eighth on the all-time points list in franchise history. Draisaitl had two goals and an assist to lead the Oilers, and Mikko Koskinen made 26 saves. Draisaitl leads the NHL with now 12 goals in 12 games. The Bruins hit the road to battle the New Jersey Devils on Saturday afternoon.
