The Maine Black Bears put 10 different players in the scorebook on Friday evening, en route to a 71-52 victory over the University of Maine-Farmington in a non-conference men’s basketball home opener at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
UMaine-Farmington (0-1) kept it close in the first half. Maine had one 10-0 spurt to take the biggest lead of the opening 20 minutes at 23-13, as the Black Bears would take a 35-28 advantage to halftime. The Black Bears pushed the lead to as much as 21 in the second half in winning their first game of the season and evening their record to 1-1.
Stephane Ingo led the way for Maine with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Adefolalrin Adetogun added 11 points. LeChaun DuHart chipped in nine points and five rebounds, while Vukasin Masic and Milos Nenadic contributed eight points a piece. Former Black Bear Terion Moss had 14 points and five rebounds, and Jack Kane had 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Beavers. The Black Bears hit the road again when they travel to Boulder, Colorado to battle the Colorado Buffaloes out of the PAC 12 on Monday night at 8 p.m.
