December 22, 2021

Jaylen Brown had a game high 34 points, including 5-10 from the three-point arc on Wednesday night, as the Boston Celtics ended the Cleveland Cavaliers six game win streak with a 111-101 victory at TD Garden in Boston.

Brown had 20 of his 34 in the first half, as Boston only trailed once in the game and that was early on in the first quarter and would lead by as many as 17 in the opening 24 minutes taking a 15 point advantage to the halftime break. The Celtics increased that to the biggest lead of the night of 23 in the third quarter, improving their record back to the .500 mark on the season at 16-16.

Brown added six rebounds and three assists to his point total, shooting 12-22 from the floor overall. Robert Williams III had his best game of the season statistically finishing with 21 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and two blocks. Jayson Tatum added 18 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Romeo Langford also got into double figures with 11 points and nine rebounds. Former Celtic and seven time All-Star Joe Johnson, who Boston just signed to a 10 day contract, saw two minutes of time at the end of the game and made the one shot he took. Darius Garland led Cleveland in the loss with 28 points and six assists, as the Cavs fall to 19-13. Former Celtic fan favorite and current Cavalier Tacko Fall scored four points and had 10 rebounds in 19 minutes. Boston will travel to Milwaukee to take on the Bucks on Christmas Day at 2:30 p.m.
