Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. If you want to sponsor the female or male athlete of the week email Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. Use that same email to send your nominations in during the week. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 361 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had four Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nomination. Cooper Flagg exploded for 20 points in the third quarter in a come from behind Nokomis win over Cony. Flagg joins Leah Edmondson (10-6-11), Noah Kershner (10-11-14), Chelsea Crockett (12-17-16), Alexys Dow (9-1-18), and Donovan Kurt (10-25-2020)as student/athletes from Nokomis high school to earn athlete of the week honors.
