Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. This week we had five Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Izzy Allen averaged 25.5 points in two games for Central It is the sixth athlete of the week honor and fourth straight for Allen who joins the following student/athletes who have earned at least six athlete of the week honors- Kolleen Bouchard (19) (Houlton), Leine McKechnie (13) (PVHS), Peyton Grant (10)(Dexter), Bryce Gilbert (9) (PCHS), Kobe Gilbert (9) (PCHS), Taylor Schildroth (9) (George Stevens), Justin Thompson (9) (Schenck), Karli Theberge-(7) (Hermon), Gage Feeney (7) (Washington Academy), Parise Rossignol (6) (Van Buren).
Female athlete of the week-
January 16th-January 22nd
- Izzy Allen- Central- basketball – had 24 points, six assists, five rebounds, and four steals in 56-7 win over Penquis. Had 27 points (20 in third quarter) on six three pointer, four assists, and four rebounds in 60-55 loss to Foxcroft.

- Denelle Eldridge- Waterville- basketball- had 20 points and 19 rebounds in 67-48 win over John Bapst.
Other nominations
- Callaway LePage- Skowhegan- basketball- had 21 points and nine rebounds in 50-35 win over Lawrence.
- Lexi Thibodeau- Old Town- basketball- had 24 points in 78-59 win over MCI.
- Danielle Dow- MCI- basketball- had 23 points (3 three pointers) in 78-59 loss to Old Town.
