BANGOR—After falling behind 5-0, the Hermon Hawks went on an 8-0 run and never looked back in a 58-30 victory over MCI in a Class B quarterfinal game on Friday evening at the Cross Insurance Center.
Hermon went on an 11-2 run late in the second quarter to take a comfortable 31-17 halftime advantage. Elizabeth Wyman had 12 first half points for the Hawks.
Maddie Lebel filled up the stat sheet recoding 10 points, 15 rebounds, four blocks, and two steals. Faith Coombs and Wyman finished with 12 points each. Meg Tracy had nine points, seven rebounds, and five steals, while Charlotte Caron had eight points and five rebounds. Hermon (17-2) will take on MDI in a semifinal game on Wednesday.
Danielle Dow and Anna Dospelova each scored seven points for the Huskies. MCI ends the season with a record of 11-9.
Hermon shot 13-16 from the free throw line, while MCI shot 2-5. The Hawks outrebounded the Huskies 37-16.
