Sea Dogs shutout the Senators in Saturday matinee

PORTLAND- The Portland Sea Dogs used five different pitchers on Saturday afternoon to shutout the Harrisburg Senators (Washington Nationals) 4-0 in Double A Eastern League baseball action at Hadlock Field.

Portland (18-20) got all they needed in the third inning. Izzy Wilson led off with a walk and then stole second base. Elih Marrero singled to send Wilson to third, and then Marrero swiped second to put two runners in scoring position. After David Hamilton struckout, Nick Sogard hit an RBI groundout. Devlin Granberg and Pedro Castellanos followed that up with back to back RBI doubles off the Maine Monster in left to make it 3-0 Sea Dogs. Castellanos finished off the scoring on the day with his second RBI double in the fifth.

Dylan Spacke, Zach Bryant, Frank German, Jacob Wallace, and Oddanier Mosqueda combined to allow no runs on five hits with five walks and 10 strikeouts. Mosqueda (1-1) picked up the win firing the final 2.0 innings. Granberg had three hits and Castellanos had two. Dondrei Hubbard had two hits for Harrisburg (18-19), while Franklyn Kilome (0-1) took the pitching loss allowing three runs on four hits in 3.0 innings. Portland has won three of the first five games of the series, with the finale to be played Sunday afternoon.
