The Bangor Little League All-Stars defeated Middleborough, Massachusetts 10-4 on Monday morning to advance to the championship game of the New England Regionals in Bristol, Connecticut.
Jacoby Harvey led the offense with two hits and three RBI, while Tyler Johnson also had two hits and Patrick Guite added a pair of RBI. Caden Karam dominated on the mound over 5.1 innings allowing one earned run on two hits with one walk and striking out 14. Harvey and Karam combined for a no-hitter in their opener of the regional, a 3-0 victory over Vermont on Saturday. Bangor, who is 2-0 in the four team tournament, will play Middleborough again in the championship game at 5 p.m. on Thursday. The winner will clinch a spot in the Little League World Series that begins next week in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. If the Maine team can win, they’ll be just the fourth team from the state to make it to Williamsport. The Bangor All-Stars are being managed by former Husson baseball head coach Jason Harvey (Bucksport High School).
