GUILFORD- The PCHS boys soccer team scored early and cruised to a 9-1 win over Mattanawcook on senior night at Guilford on Monday evening.
Brady Gaw got the scoring started for the Pirates just 20 seconds into the contest. Gabe Soctomah would give PCHS a 2-0 advantage with 28:45 left in the first half on a Christian Homchuck assist. Soctomah would assist on a goal by Scott Chadbourne 12 minutes later. The final goal of the first half for the Pirates came when Homchuck put one in the back of the net on an assist from Gaw. Merle Thompkins would put in the Lynx only goal with 53 seconds left in the first half.
Chadbourne, Homchuck, Ben Higgins, AJ Melia, and Brady Ball would score second half goals for PCHS. Dawson Simpson and Noah Kain combined to make eight saves for the Pirates. PCHS (6-6-1) will finish their regular season when they host PVHS on Tuesday or Wednesday. Wyatt Leighton made 24 saves for the Lynx. Mattanawcook finishes the season 0-14.
