The Black Bears struck first on a goal from Nolan Renwick at 8:20 of the first period on assists from Felix Trudeau and David Breazeale. AIC would tie it just over three minutes later with their only tally of the day when Julius Janhonen scored on the powerplay at 11:33. Breen found the net for the game winner at 1:06 of the second, and would make it 3-1 with another goal at 14:31. Donovan Villeneuve-Houle at 15:51 of that middle period and Luke Antonacci at 14:24 of the third ended the scoring on the day.

Along with the four different goal scorers in the win for Maine, Trudeau and Michael Mancinelli also had two assists each. Victor Ostman made 17 saves in net. Jarrett Fisk made 33 saves for American International over the first two periods, while Brennan Boynton stopped eight in relief. The Yellow Jackets out of the Atlantic Hockey Association fall to 7-7-3 on the season. The Black Bears go back on the road next Friday and Saturday for a two game Hockey East series against Vermont.
