Ava Goulette dominates to lead PCHS to girls basketball win over Searsport

December 23, 2022

The PCHS Lady Pirates arrived late, played with foul trouble, but still managed a 40-34 win at Searsport on Thursday night.

The Pirates and Vikings were even for the majority of the game. A big second quarter helped PCHS build the lead to 11. Searsport battled back in the second half and cut the deficit to three with less than two minutes remaining. Hope Hunt made a front end of a one and one to make it a two possession game in advantage of the Pirates.

Freshman Ava Goulette continues to dominate. She finished with 19 points and 17 rebounds. She now has three double doubles in her first four high school games. Abbey Ricker put in 15 points, while Kendall Kimball added five points and five steals. The game was delayed due to the Pirates having bus issues on the way to Searsport. PCHS (3-1) will play at Valley on December 27th. Freshman Julianna Sprague scored a game high 24 points for the Vikings. Searsport (0-3) will play at Dexter on December 30th.  Eastern Maine Sports Media will have live coverage of the Vikings game at Dexter on December 30th and the Pirates game at home against Lee on January 2nd.
